Let the words flow…

Let the words flow…….

The creator can only express

The listener can interpret.

Words have a life of their own
We have no control over where they go
Into the tunnel of darkness or into the hall of fame
Will they be appreciated or will they be shamed?

A writer’s work is to pen down the words
Be honest yet tactful, be genuine and kind
When you form the words, do it with an open mind

It might meander and take a wrong turn or two
Yet it will reach its destination on cue

Do not hesitate to use this gift
for it has the power to lift
a curse, a doubt, a threat, a rift!

This poem is partially inspired by this passage β€œIt’s in the listener, and for each and every ear it will be different, and it will affect them in ways they can never predict. From the mundane to the profound. You may tell a tale that takes up residence in someone’s soul, becomes their blood and self and purpose. That tale will move them and drive them and who knows what they might do because of it, because of your words. That is your role, your gift.”
